Field Day

Yesterday was Sam's field day and today, Robbie got his turn:

Sammie destroyed all of the boys on the obstacle course.

Sammie and Kayliegh taking a break in the 100 degree weather.

Emmie got into the fight too!

Robbie stumbling through the obstacle course.

And then cooling off in the 100 degree heat. But it's a dry heat.

Dinosaur Play

Today was Sammie's turn to shine as she played the young Miss Shinners in her school's re-enactment of a last month's trip to the Dinosaur Museum. She got to say a couple of lines and she did wonderful. She was loud and clear and obviously had a lot of fun.

Especially when the singing started. The first song was about a Stegosaurus (which we slept under) and the second was about a Pterodactyl (her favorite dinosaur). But one of her favorite songs was about how T-Rex ruins everything. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

This is a picture of the Stegosaurus that Sammie and her friend Spencer drew for the play. Just like the one we slept under when ...

... Sammie and I got to sleep with the dinosaurs. This was one of the most exciting things I have ever done, so imagine how excited the 150 kids were that night.

Here is the scene of our campground. RIGHT UNDER THE STEGOSAURUS! Yes it was a little scary when they started walking around after lights out.

Eventually, Sammie and her best friend Kayleigh fell asleep! I didn't think she could stay up that late, but she made to 11:30 (which, if you know Sammie, is VERY late).

And she was still happy at 6 a.m. when we got up to eat! All in all it was a lot of fun going to the museum and reliving it through the play today.

SAFE!

Robbie had a double header today and won both games! (16-2 and 5-3) Robbie had 2 walks, a hit, a strike out and scored 3 runs. The boys played great ball ... what a fun way to spend a day!

By George I Think He's Got It...

... at least we hope so! Charlie is so proud of himself and loves this new found independence. We have been accident free for several days. The downside to it all is he is making special trips outside to water the rocks! We are so thankful for our understanding neighbors, thanks John & Debbie.

Hike through the Organs

Today the six of us went on a hike through Baylor Canyon Pass in the Organ Mountains just east of Las Cruces.

We didn't make it all of the way across, because Emilie was getting a bit tired and so was Nelson with Charlie on his shoulders. We did go about two miles in though and Emilie walked the whole thing there and back to the car. Charlie lasted about a mile which was pretty impressive.

Sammie and Robbie were a bit upset because, "they weren't even tired". Nelson promised the three of them would go back and finish.

Here We Go...

We hope that keeping up with this blog will be easier than keeping up with our website.
We hope you enjoy this!
